About OutShine

OutShine didn’t start in a boardroom. It started with Think about it. You don’t learn to swim by reading about water. You don’t learn to cook by memorising recipes. And you certainly don’t learn to communicate by filling in grammar blanks.

That’s the gap OutShine was built to fill, a simple but powerful belief that children learn best when they experience something, not when they are told about it.

OutShine is an experience-led virtual Language Lab for students of Classes 4 to 8, where every session is immersive, every activity has a purpose and every child is treated as a unique learner. No textbooks. No syllabus. Just real, joyful, science-backed language learning that sticks.

Vatsala Garg

Hi, I’m Vatsala Garg, founder of OutShine and an absolute word lover. Seriously. I cannot read past a new word without knowing its meaning β€” and once I know it, I’ll find every possible opportunity to use it in conversation! πŸ˜„

Β

During Covid, like most of us, I found myself at home with time, energy and a head full of ideas. I had always wanted to work with young learners β€” but I didn’t want to just teach. I wanted to understand. So I pursued an Instructional Design course from KPMG Learning, where I discovered something that changed everything β€” learner psychology is theΒ foundation of all great teaching.

Β

I spent time understanding how children of different age groups think, what makes them curious, what makes them switch off and what truly makes language come alive for them.

I spent time understanding how children of different age groups think, what makes them curious, what makes them switch off and what truly makes language come alive for them.

The final piece of the puzzle came from an unexpected place β€” a client who told me he wasn’t sending his children to school. Instead, he was giving them experiential learning. That conversation stayed with me. And OutShine was born.

Five years of teaching vocabulary to young learners, a certification in Instructional Design and a deep love for language later β€” I can say with full confidence: when a child experiences language, they never forget it.

And that is exactly what OutShine delivers β€” every single session.
